Intel 965 Express Family Game Requirement Analysis The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator, or GMA, is Intel's current line of integrated graphics processors built into various motherboard chipsets. The latest addition to Intel's integrated graphics arsenal is the Graphics Media Accelerator X3000, which can be found in the company's G965 Express chipset. I've been reading some forums and i really don't have any knowledge of computers especially about graphic cards. I wanted to know, how does my graphics card compare to ones like Radeon and GeForce (like what model of these ones). Also, i tried running a game like Bioshock and even an older one, Lost. I've been reading some forums and i really don't have any knowledge of computers especially about graphic cards. I wanted to know, how does my graphics card compare to ones like Radeon and GeForce (like what model of these ones). Also, i tried running a game like Bioshock and even an older one, Lost Planet, on my laptop and it wouldn't work. I met all the recommended system requirements but it won't work. It says: Intel Core Duo processor, RAM: 2GB, Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512MB RAM (NVIDIA GeForce 7900 or better) DX 10: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 or better. Basically, my laptop has a 1.83 duo core processor, 3GB RAM, DirectX 10 plus the video card i mentioned and it's Vista. Since i met all the requirements, i figured its the video card that's the issue. The game loads and opens, but for Lost Planet, it's so slow and blurry on the lowest settings and won't even start Bioshock. Also wanted to ask, does it matter how many games are on a laptop? I mean, does it affect the gameplay or the speed/quality of other games on the computer or does it not matter? Best Answer: you do not have a video card. That is integrated gfx. Horrible, never expect integrated to run games. You do not have 512 of gfx memory unless it sharing that much from your ram. DriverFinder can save you time and remove any guesswork related to researching driver issues by providing instant access to the most relevant content for your computer's hardware, solution article, even some of the old device which not supported/provided by the device manufacturer's website again. Intel Q965 Express ChipsetBecause thats what integrated solutions do, leech off your ram. And wait it gets worse, intel has the absolute worst integrated gfx. The best you could hope for is something like a 730i chipset from nvidia. To compare your gfx to actual cards is hard, i havnt seen any benchmarks on tom's or anandtech that do any testing with igp ha. But id say about 20% of the power of a 9500gt (which is by no means a decent card for todays games) or something, and i think that may be getting generous. Intel 965 Express Chipset FamilyGl960Since you have a laptop is will be impossible to upgrade your gfx. Since all gfx cards in laptops are actually built into the design of the mobo. If you had a desktop this would be a different story. To your second question, how much of your hard drive you are using up can effect hard drive access speed, so you want to try and keep it lower for best performance, but it will have little consequence on you if you did have a bunch of games on there. It would still open up your games and playt them fine if you did have the required specs, but you dont.
